I never leave reviews but the person at your cash desk was either discriminating me cause they don’t like black people or absolutely hates their job and it reflects in their customer service. I was stopped by how amazing this restaurant smells and was even very enticed to buy lots of goodies but when the person at the cash desk didn’t even glance up at me, greet me, tell me about anything, ask any questions instead they looked me dead in my face with the straightest face and went back to whatever task they were doing. I immediately knew I wasn’t going to buy anything. As a business owner and a retail manager myself, a simple greet goes a long way, this person working on November 23rd around 1:30 pm will single handedly ruin your reputation and business. No need to discipline, just coach your team on how to simply GREET a customer and make them feel welcomed.
A Rave Review! This lovely shop run by a warm-hearted Indian couple is an absolute gem! I tried their handmade chocolate chip cookies—absolutely divine, jumbo-sized and so satisfying. They also offer four varieties of scones, which are incredibly generous in size—honestly, almost twice as big as any I’ve had in the UK! Along with cupcakes, carrot cake, and a range of adorable cakes, there’s something for every sweet tooth. The owners are incredibly friendly and the shop itself is spotlessly clean. You can truly trust the quality here. I’m already looking forward to their future launches—they mentioned many new creations are on the way. Definitely a place worth visiting again and again. Highly recommend!
A few years ago, I ordered a birthday cake from the Ajax location and my sister raved about it, saying it was one of the best chocolate cakes she'd ever had. This year, I decided to order my sister birthday cake from the Oshawa location, and it was a huge disappointment. The service was unprofessional from the start. The employee I spoke with didn't know the pricing and had to connect me with someone on the phone to discuss my order. I placed the order five days in advance, but the day before pickup, I received a text asking me to pick up the cake from the Ajax location, even though I had ordered it in Oshawa. I requested a 3 p.m. pickup, but was told that if I wanted to pick it up in Oshawa, I'd have to wait until 7 p.m., which I agreed to. On the day of pickup, I received a text saying that the person's husband was stuck in traffic, and I had to wait at the store until he arrived. The cake looked beautiful, but the taste was a letdown. It was dry and tasted stale. My sister and I were very disappointed and felt like we had wasted our money. I don't think I'll be returning.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience felt too serious not to share. I bought a coconut cream pie around 9 AM to bring to a friend’s cottage. When we cut into it after dinner, we noticed something dark inside. After flipping the pie out of the tin, we found it was filled with black mold. We were about to serve it to four small kids — thankfully we checked it first. The pie was dry, crumbling, and clearly old. Based on their recent posts, it seems likely it was made for Father’s Day — which would mean it had been sitting for nearly two weeks. I messaged them privately on Instagram and was disappointed to get a response that blamed the AC. There was no real apology or accountability. This wasn’t a fresh pie that spoiled in a few hours — it was obviously expired when sold. Food safety should be a priority in any business, especially one serving the public. I’ve since seen other posts where they’ve promised better quality checks, but clearly those aren’t being followed. I’m sharing this not to be harsh, but because this could have made people very sick — and that’s unacceptable.
Awesome place! You wouldn't believe they have samosas, but they do and they're incredible! Day old cookies thst are still soft for only $1! Best deal. Super nice people.
Unbelievable is the only word that comes to mind. I went the other day and the sign said “ daily special: buy a cinnamon bum and get a free coffee” we went it and got it but she didn’t grab a Cinnabon, where they were displayed, she grabbed one from a white box at the bottom of the display, we thought that was weird, but we just ignored it and she looks at us and says do you want it heated? We said yes and she put it into a microwave. We went to go sit down to eat it and it was so hard it broke the fork. It was literally ROCK HARD. We went up to complain and she blamed it on the microwave and tried to make excuses saying it was frozen but you could clearly see it was not frozen or even in a freezer she grabbed us a new one from where they were displayed did the same thing as before heated it in the microwave for 30 seconds. She didn’t even give us a new fork even after we showed her the other one broke. The one she gave was better and soft. We payed for the cinnamon bun and she purposely gave us an over day old one and on top of that the coffee was barely half way full.
I popped in at opening to ensure I could get BreadChubby sourdough before it sold out. Fortunately I secured a few loaves and also indulged in some baked treats. The staff were all so lovely and helpful with answering questions I had. A special mention to staff member Rion (spelling) for the excellent customer service.
