Superb selection and reasonable prices. This is more of an outing that simply looking at plants to buy - the koi and turtle ponds are always interesting. If you're only there to look at plants, the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are reasonable. Good selection of landscaping materials as well.
Incredible selection of annuals & perennials during the growing season (Spring & Summer). There is usually someone on staff that is very knowledgeable. Could spend hours here if you're a flower/plant enthusiast
Vandermeer is just awesome; great place to get a wide selection of good quality plants while checking out the fish and turtles. It could of course be bigger and better (encompassing more water feature products and garden structures); additionally, the gravel could be more fine in the parking lot so that the plants in the kart don't go flying all over the place when heading back to your vehicle. Overall though, again, typically a very positive and fun experience.
This nursery is great. It is large, the staff are friendly, and the selection is excellent. I went for soil for my Venus Fly Trap as they need low nutrient soil and to make the mix myself would have required buying two big bags of pearlite and peat moss from Canadian Tire or Lowe's. Vandermeer has small bags of soil specially made for different plants that need specific soil. I'll definitely come here again!
Love this place! I love just walking around the store in every season even if I'm not buying much. They have the best atmosphere! Staff is friendly and knowledgable.
