Was very pleasantly surprised having dessert and Karak chai at this place after a tasty bbq dinner. The Karak chai was as good and as fresh as any of the more popular establishments. The desserts we had were so fresh and moist. Highly recommend.
Completely understaffed. Waited 10 minutes while the staff took his time doing other stuff. Waited 30 more minutes just for an espresso. Espresso was okay. Their affogato isn't separate. They mix the ice cream in the coffee so it just drowns and disappears. Ice cream disappears in 3 seconds. Chai is good.
sweet heart cafe is a hidden gem in durham! their kashmiri tea and cheese scone was delicious! this place needs more attention and they are paired with a delicious chain bbq place next door. perfect place to read , catch up with friends and eat . my bf had the jerk chicken sandwich n loved it
Stopped in for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch. It's a cool concept having a cafe and bbq restaurant in the same establishment. We ordered the half chicken with fries and it came with coleslaw. The chicken was moist and succulent and the fries and salad were great. The second meal we ordered was the brisket, also with fries and coleslaw. The chicken was the better option IMHO. The meat was dry and chewy. Not terrible but not great. The bbq sauce was a bit overpowering but still very acceptable. The restaurant is great for a quick family meal. It's halal so they obviously don't sell beer or wine. Our two meals came up to $50 and the portion were generous. The only aspect that was a bit of a turn off was the lack of housekeeping. Most of the tables hadn't been cleaned after previous patrons. There was food on the floor (see images) and the lack of attention to cleanliness makes me wonder what goes on in the kitchen.
I come to this coffee shop all the time because the service is consistently amazing. The food and coffee are always great,the two guys at the front — they’re genuinely the friendliest.Always pleasant, friendly, and quick, no matter how busy it gets. They make every visit feel easy. My go to favorite spot in Ajax.
A nice, simple brunch place with good food and reasonable prices. The portions and quality were both solid. However, the service was quite slow even though it wasn’t crowded, and the coffee machine was broken during my visit. I also didn’t realize there were two restaurants operating in the same space, but that wasn’t a problem. Staff were friendly. Overall, good experience. Will visit again to try their coffee and update the review.
We decided to check out Sweet Heart Cafe for brunch. Priyam was very friendly and helpful, answering our questions about the menu options. Everything was so tasty and the food came out quickly! We got the smoked salmon sandwich, kashmiri tea, and the coffee pastry combo with a chocolate croissant. The music was really good and the volume was not too loud. Would come back again!!
