I recently purchased a can of paint from a Sherwin-Williams store, and as a contractor who has used all kinds of paints—including Benjamin Moore and Behr—I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the quality. This was supposed to be a high-end paint, priced at $100 before discount. Even with the discount, I still paid $94, including taxes. Given the price, I expected premium performance, but instead, the quality was shockingly low. The paint had a thin consistency, splattered excessively, and required two full coats to achieve decent coverage—even though I was painting a light color over an already light-colored wall. By comparison, Behr Marquee provides full coverage in just one coat, with a smooth, rich finish. Even mid-tier Benjamin Moore paints, which cost half as much as this Sherwin-Williams can, offer better coverage, don’t splatter, and require less effort. To be clear, my frustration is not with the store or its employees—I received good customer service, and I don’t know if this issue was due to an old batch, improper mixing, or simply the product itself. However, for this price, the quality was unacceptable. There are far superior paints available at half the cost that deliver excellent results, so I can’t justify purchasing Sherwin-Williams again. I hope the company takes a closer look at their quality control because this experience was frustrating and resulted in double the work. I’m sharing my honest experience so others can be aware before making a purchase.
Great customer service! I always find it really difficult to buy paint colour and the guys here were super accommodating. I initially tried to colour match a BM paint and it didn’t turn out how we wanted. Went back to try to get it closer. Went back a second time to lighten the shade even more, and they were always super friendly and understanding. And the coverage of the paint I found to be better than BM. Would highly recommend this location because of its customer service!
Walked in at 5:45 last Saturday (15 mins before closing) and the sales rep provided fantastic service. He was able to get our paint ready in 5 minutes, provide insightful advice and was overall very pleasant. I don't remember the associates name but I'd like to thank him for his excellent service.
wish I can give minus five stars. The girl who works ( since 2017 I guess) here gave me a real bad & highly unprofessional experience. She made all 4 gallons wrong and was not able to match it even reasonably close with SW's own paint chips respectively ( all 4 gallons came way way off from their chip). I Had a Very rude, cold & irresponsible response after spending so much money on 4 gallons that she screwed up. Additoonally , she refused to take any responsibility or offer any help which was very disappointing !!! Thereafter i tried Benjamin moore paint. To my surprise their paint is great, gives a very smooth coverage, only 1 coat is enough mostly ( with BM ) but I prefer 2 coats for painting over dark walls. They ( BM) do prefect color matching as well. SW does not gives as thick coverage as BM & needs three coats even on lighter walls & paint is more expensive than BM to begin with. Heard another customer complaining for the bad service with the same girl( staff). Never going again. Rather can color match somewhere else. They need to hire better people who know what they are doing and can be respectful to the business that people are bring in.
The paint is great. No issues. We got the top line Emerald exterior satin latex. The colour matching and service from the staff was awesome. So why 3 stars? They don't sell anything smaller then a gallon of paint. I ran out of paint and a quart would've been more than enough to finish the job. But I had to buy a full gallon for each of my 2 colours! At $94 a gallon each that just doubled my paint cost. Lowe's, Home Depot and Benjamin Moore strores all sell smaller sizes.
Helpful staff and excellent sales on paint and supplies. I have puchased all of my interior and exterior paints/stains from Sherwin Williams aan never been disappointed.
A lot of consistency here. The staff is reliable and knowledgeable. Paint everywhere is stupid expensive but I have really appreciated the quality of paint (amazing coverage). I swap between Benjamin Moore and Sherwin because of convenience...loyalty to both.
