Have always enjoyed this Canadian Tire. I find their staff are extremely friendly and helpful and knowledgeable . I remember getting some wiper blades there and they installed in minutes in a huge snow storm. Store is very clean and the shelves are always Well stocked.Never had an issue with the odd return that someone always has to do.
I am a pretty regular customer at Canadian Tire. They have nice stuff and great sales sometimes. The departments I frequent here include storage and organization, sports and rec. and a few others. I'm going to give it two stars because of the bad customer service I experienced. This review is about this particular branch of Canadian Tire and my experience here. I recently purchased a Schwinn GTX 700C bike that was on sale. It was a decent bike but I noticed that there was some grinding going on with the gears. I'm not a bike expert and since it was a new bike, I wasn't going to tinker with on my own in case it might be a serious technical issue. I decided to take it in for the bike mechanic to have a look at it to see what the problem was. I called in before and they told me the bike mechanic works on Tuesdays at 12pm-7pm and on Saturdays 11am to 6 or 7PM. I brought my bike in on Tuesday around 5pm and they told me the mechanic had left for the day. They were unapologetic and put the onus on me for not calling in first, which I did. They then suggested that I leave the bike here or come back Saturday. I called the Sports Dept. on Saturday and they really had no idea on what was going on! The guy I called went to check and they told me the mechanic would be there 11am till 2 or 3PM. I didn't want to miss him again so I reached there around 2pm and after speaking with the returns lady who was rude and dismissive, and had no idea if the bike guy was still at the store or make any effort to check told me to go to the sports department. I go to the sports department, it's barely 2PM and they tell me he's done for the day. Apparently he makes his own schedule! There's a Manager there, and even she's surprised, I overhear her mutter, "unbelievable!" Then this guy appears, dressed in his day clothes and tells me that he's the bike mechanic. He tinkers with the bike for a few seconds, bends the front derailleur with pliers and says the bike is good to go. I'm not satisfied as he didn't take any time at all, but the grinding has stopped, so only time will tell if that was the only issue. All in all pathetic customer service, except for one lady who might have been the manager, who was a little helpful. Most of the employees were clueless and/or rude. I guess they'll hire anyone these days! It was a very frustrating experience and it's unlikely I'll shop here again.
Aisle numbering is quite weird, but the staff are helpful and knowledgeable so directions are easily had. There's now a place to deposit your Canadian tire money that would go to charity. Love the idea!
Everytime I walk into this location, I come out with a purchase. Not once have I not. Staff are efficient and quick. Very polite and helpful. Return/Exchange counter is the same. Only thing I miss, is needing car parts. That was my favourite part of always going to Canadian Tire.
Lots of staff on the floor and only one cashier in the peak evening hours. The queue snaking around aisles 12 customers deep. Lord Have Mercy!
