The customer service here is absolutely fantastic. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and asked if I was looking for anything specific. I was indeed looking for a Christmas gift in a section that I was less than familiar with. The associates at this location were extremely helpful with my (less than adequate description) for a gift for a family member. They directed me to the area, helped me filter the size based upon how the specific brand changes in different selections and helped me decide on the perfect gift for my family during this holiday season. I would definitely suggest and recommend that those in the area looking for comfy and or general wear look to this location for superior customer service and a great selection for any season.
Extremely Poor Service from Associate and Manager!! My experience with the Roots store at 140 Kingston Rd E, Ajax, was appalling and deeply disappointing. I visited the store on Oct 14th simply asking for help to look up a receipt number for a large transaction ($171.64) so I could perform a size exchange. The transaction details were provided, including the Visa card used. The associate, Bayleigh, outright refused to help, stating she had "other important things to do" and was completely dismissive and rude. Her behavior was witnessed by other staff members. I called to speak to the Store Manager, Keisha, to report the incident. Instead of resolving the issue, Manager Keisha was immediately defensive, deflected the conversation by repeatedly lecturing me on the exchange policy (which was not the issue), and became personally disrespectful, stating she wanted to have a "grown-up conversation." She also wrongfully claimed I was being disrespectful and provided me with false information regarding duplicate receipts. The manager escalated the problem instead of providing basic leadership and customer service. I strongly recommend avoiding this location due to the unprofessional and disrespectful conduct of both the staff and the manager. The service here is a serious disappointment.
I was in the store on Monday afternoon looking for a a matching gift set. Upon arriving I was nicely greeted by a sales associate who was very helpful and friendly. She directed me where I needed to go, and offered her assistance However, I noticed she was the only person working in the store. At the front counter another a ‘worker’ was standing sorting items and it prompted me to ask if that was really an employee offering such little if any help. I was shocked to find out this was the store manager. I witnessed the sales associate be forced to leave a customer to cash out another as the store manager stood at the register while making no attempt to assist. She couldn’t even take a second to look up and acknowledge the customer waiting at the desk. I’m not sure how this store is run but it’s very disappointing to see a store manager so detached and leaving one associate to fold clothes, help customers and even engage in friendly conversation with those around her. It’s surprising that this is the environment that roots wants to push.
Absolutely zero customer service … not a single person offered to help while I’m looking to fina a size … 3 or 4 staff members and no one bothered to come . When they cashed me I informed the person about my disappointment and he continued what he was doing .. no apologies no nothing .. when you buy for a decent amount and still getting service like this no wonder the store is empty all the time .
Would give minus - staff member cassandras attitude is disgusting if u dont want to work quit !!! Been shopping here for 19 years first time have had this experience judging from the reviews, the staff attitude definitely needs to be addressed - the manager also doesn’t really want anything to do with complaints. She just wants to shut you up by telling you what you want to hear so don’t bother complaining. I think the head office needs to retrain all the staff members on basic customer service - smile and be nice its doesnt cost a thing - the store use to have great deals now its just pathetic!!!!!!
Went in the store today. I thought it was supposed to be a outlet store. Prices were same as regular roots store. Left without buying anything. Won't go back.
Terrible Customer Service The young lady wearing a headscarf at the counter was impatient and walked away without answering questions satisfactorily about a certain item in stock and about the return policy. What’s the hurry? Take a minute and help your customers, this is a customer facing job after all. She needs better training. We left and are going to give our business to another Roots location. People, please don’t drop 100s of dollars when you are not treated well at a store, don’t let shoddy service become the norm. Date: 31st Dec 2023 Time: 2.30 PM
This isn't actually a roots store, it's a roots outlet. But nonetheless, you can still get excellent deals here! I bought a full roots track suit for a very reasonable price. The store smells good too, oddly enough and the employees are all very polite and helpful.
This is my review on my first experience at thislocation. Staff: overstaffed for the amount of people walking into the store. I was the only customer in the store and no one greeted me or explained any promotions. I admit I don't often like when the staff bombard customers with their promos, however, in this case I specifically came in because of their winter sale. Customer service: poor. The manager on duty at the store was very rude to the staff member who helped me. She seemed very overconfident and although saw me waiting at the cashier desk, did not bother to ask if I needed help to purchase all the items I had in my hand. Instead, she looked behind her for the staff on cash to come back from clearing the fitting room to help me. She didn't even tell the other 2 staff members who were having a personal in depth conversation about their life on work time, to come help the only customer in the store (me). The male staff member was the only person who actually helped. He seemed to be doing everything, answering phones, clearing fitting rooms, cashing out people. He was very helpful. I would rate his customer service a 4 star.Price: $$Environment: cleanOverall: I probably will not go back to this store. If it was not for the male staff member who was somewhat helpful, I probably would not have purchased anything. Customer service does need improvement.
Not busy, empty stores, staff not very helpful.. Greet you when you walk in, then just keep to themselves. Tried find more sizes, they were not helpful.. Seems like more interested in chatting between themselves then serving customers.
