While the atmosphere of restaurant is good and very hygienic place the staff is also good the taste of dishes are awesome love to come again for the my dishes ☺️ and the environment of resturant was good such a good place for your family friends must suggest come
First time here. The haddock fish was huge, lightly battered and delicious!! The fries were perfect too. Definitely coming back and recommend to anyone.
I’m honestly so impressed with Captain Neels. The fish and chips here are on another level — super crispy on the outside, flaky and fresh on the inside. I tried their white fish and haddock and both tasted amazing. Portions are huge and everything feels freshly made, not greasy. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, even during busy hours. You can tell they really care about quality. Definitely one of the best fish & chips spots I’ve tried, and easily a hidden gem in the GTA. Highly recommend!
I had halibut fish and chips for lunch. The fish was very good. Nice large piece and the batter was light. But the fries were not great. They were dry. Seemed like they had been sitting there for a long time. Fish was hot but the fries were lukewarm. Will give them another chance. Maybe I got a bad batch.
I enjoy a good fish & chips and Captain Neel's in Ajax certainly offers that and a lot more! They're the biggest fish & chips shop in the GTA and have been around for 30 years so they must be doing things right! I dropped in with friends recently to enjoy a great meal. We had their Halibut, Pollock, Basa, and Lobster Tails. Yes, LOBSTER! It was all really good, with very generous portions. Their battered fish was light and crispy and their chunky fries were excellent! They even have jumbo portions of fish if you really need to satisfy your craving. Other seafood options include Haddock, Cod, Shrimps, and Lobster. If you're not a fan of seafood, check out their Burgers, Crispy Chicken, Wings, and much more. They even have Butter Chicken. ---------------- April 2025 I've driven past Captain Neel's Fish & Chips many times and finally decided to stop in for lunch. I had fully intended to have fish & chips but then I discovered they offer so much more than just seafood. Their menu also offers Indian dishes, Kebabs (Halal), Milkshakes and Sundaes, Cookies, and more. Their decor even includes Chinese lanterns. They've got all bases covered! I decided to try their Butter Chicken with Rice. It took a little while to prepare because it was cooked from scratch. I didn't mind waiting for fresh food. The portions were quite generous, especially the rice. The butter chicken flavour was good but the rice was a bit undercooked, although edible. The meal included a drink and choice of dessert. I chose a peanut cookie and it was pretty good. The lunch special, available between 11am and 3pm, was CDN$18.99. That was a good deal, especially for the large portions. Kudos to Tara, the server/cook/cashier who was very friendly.
I hate to do this because it's a small business but the portions here have been getting smaller and smaller with regards to the fish and chips. First they started giving less and less chips and I went a couple days ago and the fish was like half the size as normal. I guess they're struggling because they're always empty but reducing your portions this drastically is not going to increase business. On the positive side the food is delicious.
love it. super delicious food ! i have ordered the chicken briyani and the tandoori chicken and it was amazing with and on top they had very reasonable price :)
